Text 20 May Non-Feminists

I do not understand why undergraduate women have such an aversion toward feminism. Okay. Maybe I do. It’s still frustrating to endure.

Time to breath some life into this dead blog.

I’m moving to New York City in August and feel like documenting the months leading up to the move. Exciting. The move also serves as the perfect excuse to justify reviving this blog at all.

On a side note, Jonathan Franzen is a genius, but the reading public already knows the truth of this statement.

Link 10 May Theory, Literature, Hoax»

Although I would certainly defend certain aspects of “Theory” against the charges this essay raises, I have to admit that the following accusation is accurate and worth considering:

Theo alone insisted that Theory was no hoax but was intended as the most imperialist of cognitive campaigns, having designs on all the disciplines. Culture owns knowledge, and departments of literature own Culture. It follows (at least if logic can be said to hold constant in the face of frenetic Culture) that departments of literature can legitimately claim dominion over us all.
